Pochettino takes over at Chelsea

The 51-year-old Argentine specialist Mauricio Pochettino has been named the new head coach of Chelsea, the team represented by Ukrainian Mykhailo Mudryk. The contract with the former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain coach was signed for two years with an option to extend for another season.

This is stated in a statement on the official Chelsea website. "Mauricio is a winning coach who has worked at the highest level, in different leagues and in different languages. His spirit, tactical approach and commitment to development made him an exceptional candidate. We are delighted that Mauricio will be joining Chelsea. Mauricio is a world-class coach with an outstanding track record," commented Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, the Londoners' sporting directors.

Pochettino began his coaching career in 2009 and has worked for Spanish side Espanyol, English sides Southampton and Tottenham, as well as French side PSG, with whom he won the league, cup and Super Cup. He reached the Champions League final with the Londoners.

Chelsea took 12th place in the 2022/2023 season and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The team was managed by four specialists at once during the season - Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Bruno and Frank Lampard.
