Terzis speaks about the defeat in Bucharest

The head coach of Greek side Aris Apostolos Terzis believes that his team's defeat by Dynamo Kyiv in the third qualifying round of the Conference League was unfair. The 52-year-old specialist expressed confidence that his wards looked stronger than the Ukrainians in both matches of the confrontation.

Terzis said this at a press conference after the game in Bucharest, which ended with Dynamo's victory in a penalty shootout, sportal.gr reports. The coach of the team from Thessaloniki stressed that his players were not supposed to bring the matter to the 11-metre penalty area, and also to beat the opponent in regular or extra time.

"What happened today is ugly and unfair. We were the best in both games. We created chances, but our luck was not there. There was a bad pitch and a goal in the 85th minute, but otherwise the game went the way we wanted. We knew the level of the opponent, but we had a way, and we played the game the way we wanted to, creating chances and controlling the tempo. And in extra time we could have scored, because we had all the chances. We received a red card, but we continued to play. Unfortunately, we were knocked out on penalties," Terzis complained.

The Aris coach also threw a tantrum because of the reaction of Dynamo's players after the penalty shootout victory to chants in honour of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin from Greek fans. It is worth noting that after the game in Bucharest, Aris players got into a fight with our team.
