In Russia, the former organiser of the Tank Biathlon (TB), Alexei Kanivets, abruptly changed his position after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and began to oppose the Russian authorities. Kanivets began posting anti-Russian posts on his social media, which provoked a real hysteria among Z-patriots.

Until 2014, Aleksei's company interacted with the Russian Ministry of Defence, and between 2003 and its closure, it worked directly with the Main Armoured Vehicle Directorate.

"I'm ashamed to say, but in March 2014 I was happy about the annexation of Crimea, I thought Putin would turn it into a candy." "I can understand the just anger of Ukrainians who write about the need to destroy Moscow. It will probably look fair now," Kanivets writes.

"If the Russian side has not declared a 'war' directly, then no international agreements on the conduct of wars are in force, which means that any Russian citizens on the territory of Ukraine are by definition criminals," the former TV organiser said in one of his posts.

Alexei also posts caricatures of vatniks on his account.
