A shocking incident occurred in the Argentine province of Misiones during an amateur league match. 62-year-old referee Remigio Armoa stabbed a football player from one of the teams in the chest.
According to The Dailymail, after the next game episode, a fight broke out on the field. Dissatisfied players surrounded the referee, expressing their complaints. Instead of showing the shouter a red card, Armoah grabbed for a cold weapon.
The video, filmed by spectators standing near the sideline, shows the player falling to the ground before being picked up by his teammates and hastily escorted off the field.
The victim, identified by local media as Kevin A., was taken to the hospital with a punctured lung, but fortunately did not suffer a fatal injury.
The 21-year-old was later photographed recovering in a hospital bed, looking at his phone.
Meanwhile, the referee fled the scene but was arrested by local police. During the search, a knife was found in the judge's possession.
The player's uncle, who has not been named, gave a short interview to local media.
"Kevin is miraculously alive. It's a very delicate moment for the family, because for our family, he's like Messi. He's a very talented boy, and thank God he had the opportunity to play at a club like Chakarita," said the victim's uncle.
