"I'm really shocked": it became known where Maguchikh donated another million hryvnias from the prize money for the 2024 Olympics
Ukrainian track and field athlete Yaroslava Maguchikh literally shocked volunteer Igor Lachenkov by supporting a collection for the needs of our country's defenders. The Paris 2024 Olympic champion donated one million hryvnias from her prize money won for winning the competition in the French capital.
Lachenkov himself wrote about this on his Telegram channel. According to him, Yaroslava made the largest individual donation in the history of his collection. He admired the athlete, who is helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces fight Russia's aggression not in words but in deeds.
"The Olympic champion Yaroslava Maguchikh has just donated a million hryvnias from the prize money to us. I'm shocked, she's just the best person and a great pride, thank you very, very much. I'm really shocked and emotional, I don't remember such personal donations, a huge respect. Our athletes are top," Lachenkov said.
Earlier it became known that Maguchikh donated one million hryvnias to Ukrainian animal rights activists. Later, the Angels of Azov charity foundation said that the athlete had donated 500,000 hryvnias to treat soldiers with severe neurotrauma.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Yaroslava Maguchikh recorded a video for the winners of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and provoked a stir on the Internet.
