"I want to give them a big hug": the most expensive goalkeeper in the world touchingly supported Ukrainians

Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa has expressed his support for Ukraine, which continues to resist Russian military aggression. The 24-year-old footballer, who played against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on his birthday, said he was happy to play against representatives of our country.
Costa, who is estimated at a record 45 million euros, said this in an interview with reporters after the match in Hamburg, OJogo portal writes. The Porto goalkeeper, who failed to keep the game scoreless, added that the stadium in Germany had an incredible atmosphere and that Shakhtar's players showed their best.
"The atmosphere was great. No matter what, the fans came to see a great show. I want to hug all Ukrainians, wish them a lot of strength and tell them that we are with them. We have achieved the best result we could, namely victory. We controlled the game from the very beginning. We managed to score the second goal after conceding, which was great. Then they scored the worst goal for a goalkeeper. We have to respect the opponent," Costa said.
As a reminder, Shakhtar Donetsk lost to Portuguese side Porto in the first round of the Champions League with four goals in 20 minutes.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the Champions League match between Lazio Rome and Atletico Madrid featured a fantastic denouement with a goal by the goalkeeper.
