Bykov attacked Hašek.

The former head coach of the Russian national hockey team, Vyacheslav Bykov, threw a tantrum over legendary goaltender Dominik Hašek's demand that Russia pay reparations to Ukraine. The two-time Olympic champion called the two-time Stanley Cup winner a scoundrel for his position on the aggressor country.

Bykov said this in an interview with Sport24. The winner of the World Championships as a coach of the Russian national team demanded that a friend of Ukraine should not be allowed to speak about the war against our country and insultingly called for no comment on Hašek's words.

"He should be banned - not allowed to speak in the press and not respond to his provocative interviews. I will not comment on the dirt he is throwing at our guys and our country! He is engaged in self-promotion and we should not give him a platform for it. No one in his country is probably interested in him anymore. And he is trying to draw attention to himself with his Russophobic position. He is a scoundrel! Silence to his antics will only make him angrier. And people burn themselves with aggression," Bykov said.

Earlier, Hašek said that Russians have no right to play in international tournaments "until they leave Ukraine and put Putin on trial." For this, CSKA's honorary president Boris Mikhailov attacked the Czech with insults.

It is worth noting that Hašek has consistently spoken out in support of Ukraine. After a trip to Kyiv and Kharkiv last summer, he recorded a video message to Ukrainians, wishing them to "drive the Russian sh*t away."

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Dominik Hašek was accused of hypocrisy after taking part in the opening ceremony of a National Hockey League match. In response, the former goalkeeper apologized for this step and called it a mistake.
