Fresh video of what Donbas Arena looks like after the "Russian world" appeared online
TikTok user viktor wassa has shot several new videos from Donetsk, showing what the Donbas Arena looks like now. The legendary stadium, which previously hosted matches of the Champions League and European Football Championship as well as Beyoncé's concerts, now looks like a massive derelict.
Judging by the footage, the occupiers neglected the maintenance of the surrounding area after the "Russian world". The park and the space in front of the entrance are overgrown with large weeds. Not a hint of grooming can be seen anywhere.
A drone from the SOLOVEY aerial reconnaissance unit of the 144th Poltava Separate Independent Brigade of the Territorial Defence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine flew over occupied Donetsk on July 23 to show what the city looks like now from a bird's eye view. Special attention was paid to the famous Donbas Arena.
This is not the first time the Ukrainian military has demonstrated its reconnaissance capabilities in Ukraine's occupied territories. In April, the commander of the AFU's Separate Aerial Reconnaissance Group Ptahy Madiara Robert Brovdi (call sign "Madiar") showed what the Donbas Arena looks like .
He emphasized that the city will be liberated soon and the Shakhtar stadium will play the Ukrainian anthem and host soccer matches involving our teams again.
The last match at the Donbas Arena was played on May 2, 2014. Shakhtar then beat Illichivets in the 28th round of the UPL. After that, Donetsk was occupied and the management was seized by "DPR" terrorists.
