Former Shakhtar and Ukraine player goes missing near Bakhmut
Former Shakhtar Donetsk, Nyva Vinnytsia and Chayka youth striker Mykhailo Kostenko has gone missing near Bakhmut, the footballer's mother posted on Facebook. Communication with 26-year-old Mykhailo, who is fighting in Donbas, was interrupted in December last year.
Until the age of 15, the player played for the academies of Kyiv's Arsenal and Dynamo, from 2012 to 2016 he was a footballer at Shakhtar, where he played for the miners' youth and reserve teams, and also played on loan at Oleksandriya U-19.
In August 2016, he joined Nyva Vinnytsia as a free agent, then played for Chayka and amateur juniors Shpytky and Polissia.
As a member of the latter, he became the top scorer of the 2021 Zhytomyr Region Cup, scoring 7 goals
The player has 1 match in the Ukrainian Cup (for Nyva against Mykolaiv (0: 2) in the 1/16 finals in the 2016/17 season) and 2 matches for the U-16 youth team in 2012.
