Slovenian ex-Saturn defender Denis Halilović said that food prices in his homeland have risen dramatically. Answering a question from a Russian journalist about the fact that the Russian Federation shows a "terrible picture of the European crisis" on TV, the 37-year-old footballer confirmed that everything is allegedly true.

"Every two or three weeks, new prices are set in Slovenian shops. You just come and see a new, increased price. Everything is getting more and more expensive, the same products. I really hope that the price increase will stop, and the government will take emergency measures and freeze food prices for two months, because it is simply impossible to go higher and because the level of salaries has remained at the same level," RB quoted the former athlete as saying.

Halilović said that people in Slovenia are very angry, and the whole nation is dissatisfied with what is happening.

"Everyone hopes that something will change for the better in these two months, that some solution will be found and prices will drop. For a normal, ordinary life, I would say, you need 5-7 thousand euros," added the former player of the club from the Moscow region.

Russian fans ridiculed the Slovenian's words.

"A storyteller. 5-7 thousand euros, for this money you can live normally in Paris (one of the most expensive cities in Europe), not to mention in Slovenia. You'll be fine in Madrid," the users wrote.

Users sarcastically point out that it's a good thing that nothing is being raised in Russia.

"And in Russia, everything is stable, people are happy and happy, that's the picture on TV," the fans mock.
