Ex-Ukrainian national team player led his team to the European Cup playoffs with a radio-controlled goal in the last seconds. Video
Ukrainian midfielder of the Hungarian club Academia Puskás Academy Artem Favorov marked a fantastic strike in the 3rd qualifying round of the Conference League. The 30-year-old ex-footballer of the Ukrainian youth national team scored the decisive goal in the return game against Armenian Ararat.
After the victory in the first game, the team of the Kiev team was satisfied with a draw, but the bronze medalist of the Hungarian championship conceded a goal in the 85th minute and it was going to extra-time. The last chance to snatch the necessary result was in the final seconds, when the referee awarded a penalty kick.
The Ukrainian took up the standard and did it skillfully. Launched from a long distance, the ball flew into Ararat's net like a radio-controlled ball.
The score became 3:3, which put the Hungarians into the playoffs of qualification, where they will meet against Italian Fiorentina on August 22.
Favorov moved to Academia Puskás from Chernihiv's Desna in January 2020 for €800,000. In August of the same year he went on loan to Zalaegerszeg, where he stayed for a year, returning to Akademia. In total, he played 114 matches for the club, scoring 19 goals and giving 8 assists.
