European boxing champion shot dead in France at workplace
Wilfried Florentin, the 2019 European boxing champion in the 91 kg weight category from France, was shot dead in Val-de-Marne (a department in the north-central part of the country), lequipe.fr reports. The 23-year-old athlete worked as a security guard in a hookah bar. Other details of the tragedy are still unknown.
"I am stunned. I am very sorry. Such a loss. He was the father of two children. He showed great promise. This is a real tragedy. He was working as a bouncer and got two bullets in the chest," said Johan Saui, the boxer's promoter.

According to local media, Florentin was fatally wounded during the fight. When the police arrived, the man had already been taken to hospital by his friends. According to unofficial information, the reason for the murder could have been a quarrel between the security guards of the establishment, probably over a woman.
