Dynamo M footballer flees Russia after being frightened by drone attack on Moscow
Norwegian footballer of Rostov, playing on loan at Dynamo Moscow, Mathias Normann refused to perform and left Russia. According to Pavel Pivovarov, the general director of the capital club, the 27-year-old midfielder has sent notices of contract termination to Dynamo and Rostov as drones crashed into the Moscow City building.
Normann left Russia "for his safety".
"We do not agree with his position, together with Rostov we are preparing for arbitration. Normann is awaiting trial," Pivovarov said.
Norman played for Rostov club from 2019 to 2021, playing in 56 matches, scoring 2 goals and giving 8 assists.
After a loan to Dinamo M in 2022, he played in 17 matches last season without scoring. In the 2023/2024 season he managed to play only one game.
As OBOZREVATEL reported, Moscow was allegedly attacked by three "Ukrainian drones" on the night of July 30, one of which was "destroyed" by Russian air defense. The other two were "suppressed" and "crashed" on the grounds of the Moscow City business center, where a fire broke out and many floors were damaged.
Russians made hysterical statements online after the attack and called for bombing "from Kyiv to Lviv" and "destroying all Ukrainians."
