Dismissal, two penalties and Yarmolenko's 100th goal: Dynamo beat the UPL debutant with a scandal

Dynamo Kyiv won the first capital derby in the Ukrainian Premier League since 2019. Mircea Lucescu's men defeated the debutant of the elite division Obolon (formerly Obolon-Brovar, founded in 2013 - ed.) 4-2 in a scandalous match.
Already in the 10th minute of the match, Dynamo conceded a goal, but the referees ruled the Obolon forward offside, which raises questions. The Bilo-Syni quickly responded with an accurate shot by Vanat, and the referees decided to count his goal after watching the video replay.
After another 15 minutes, the favourites were awarded a penalty, which Andriy Yarmolenko converted. This goal became the 100th in the UPL for the Dynamo legend.
Just before the break, Obolon managed to get back into the game by one goal, but the White and Blues immediately regained the two-goal lead. Five minutes after the start of the second half, Dynamo conceded again, making the score 2-3.
At the end of the hour, the referees again failed to protect the favourite's goal due to an obvious offside position. In the 72nd minute of the match, Obolon midfielder Hrusha rudely jumped into the legs of the opposition midfielder Brazhko and received a red card. Almost immediately, Vanat earned his second penalty of the game, and Yarmolenko scored a double from the spot.
As a result of the match, Dynamo won three points and became the leaders of the championship. On the next game day, Kyiv will host Metalist-1925.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the day before, Dynamo Kyiv found out who they will play in the third qualifying round of the Conference League.
