Did Syrsky play for Lazio? An unexpected photo with the "Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" went viral on social networks

Internet users drew attention to the striking similarity

After the appointment of Oleksandr Syrsky as the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, the network drew attention to the striking resemblance between the 58-year-old colonel general and the famous Argentine footballer Roberto Sensini. A photo from the 2000/2001 Champions League match between Lazio and Shakhtar (0:3) went viral on social network X (formerly Twitter).

In the picture, the still 34-year-old midfielder is fighting with Ukrainian Andriy Vorobey. The photo was taken at the end of the match, when Sensini came on as a substitute for Diego Simeone.

OBOZ.UA invites its readers to evaluate the similarities between the Argentine footballer and the Ukrainian general.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council said that Russian propaganda has launched a large-scale campaign to discredit Syrsky.

Propagandists are trying to create the image of a "Soviet and Russian person" and are promoting the topic of his relatives in Russia.
