"Destroyed my career": world champion from Russian Federation called the suspension of the Russians inhumane and lashed out at the International Federation

World champion Alexander Menkov has accused the International Athletics Federation (World Athletics) of destroying his career by suspending Russian athletes from its tournaments. The winner of the 2013 World Championships in Moscow in the long jump called the attitude of the organization's functionaries to himself inhumane.
Menkov said this in an interview with the Russia Today propaganda TV channel. The Russian is not embarrassed either by the fact that a large-scale doping system was organized in the Russian Federation or that his country attacked Ukraine, because of which the Russian Federation was excluded from World Athletics.
"Destroyed my career and the careers of all our young athletes ... How can you keep the athletes out of international tournaments for eight years? When all this started, the international federation began to behave as if I didn't exist at all. But I'm not an ordinary athlete, I took gold at the World Championships. I could have won the Olympics, everyone saw that. And then one day my name was forgotten, as if Menkov never existed..... It was an inhuman attitude. Some people received at least refusals, but I received nothing at all," Menkov said.
Earlier, Russian world and European champion Ekaterina Koneva complained that she was simply destroyed in her native country when she was accused of doping in 2007.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Olympic champion Mikhail Mamiashvili demanded that Russian athletes be allowed to participate in international competitions without additional conditions with words about the "superior race".
