Cristiano Ronaldo attacked the Russian referee in front of Usyk's eyes. Video
Al-Nasr striker Cristiano Ronaldo reacted emotionally to the decision of Russian referee Kirill Levnikov during the Saudi Arabian championship match against Al-Ettifaq. His team took the lead, but towards the end of the match they conceded a decisive goal and were down to ten men in added time.
The key episode occurred at the end of the match. Al-Nasr's John Duran slapped an opponent's head, and he fell down. Levnikov showed a red card without hesitation, which made Ronaldo furious.
The Portuguese player first ran up to the referee, began to gesticulate actively, then kicked the ball towards the bench in anger. After that, he continued to express his dissatisfaction near the touchline, but the referee did not punish him.
Levnikov added 11 minutes, and the game was delayed until the 103rd minute, but even that did not help Al Nasr win back the game in the minority. The team lost and lost important points. In the standings, the capital's club ranks fourth.
Interestingly, the match was watched in the stands by Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, who arrived in Riyadh for the Bivol vs Beterbiev 2 boxing match.
Before the match against Al-Ettifaq in Riyadh, Oleksandr ran onto the field of the King Saud Stadium and made a signature gesture of celebrating Ronaldo's goal. In response, the stands cheered enthusiastically.
During the match, the Ukrainian heavyweight appeared on the stadium's big screens several more times, provoking applause from the stands.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the boxing evening in Riyadh on February 22 will be held without Daniel Dubois, who withdrew from the fight with Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) due to illness. Despite this, Usyk intends to seek a new fight from the Briton.
It should be noted that Parker will now fight Congolese Martin Bakoli (21-1, 16 KOs), and the winner of the fight will become a mandatory contender for the fight with Oleksandr. At the same time, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) intends to make an exception for the Ukrainian super-champion to defend his titles.
