Barcelona has officially apologised for the scandalous video featuring teammates Alex Balde and Sergi Roberto, who recorded a grateful message to Russian fans. A few days ago, the players appeared in a promotional video for Okko Sport, which broadcasts La Liga matches in Russia.

Barcelona's management emphasises its commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict and its belief in the value of sport as a tool for bringing peoples closer together.

"We reiterate our support for the Ukrainian people and deeply regret that this message has offended our fans in Ukraine," the statement reads, as quoted by Tribuna.

In its letter, Barça points out that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the club has been helping all Ukrainians who have arrived in Catalonia seeking asylum.

"Our help was not limited to words. On match days at the Camp Nou, the club organised tents to collect essential goods for newborns and young children who arrived with their mothers. As a result of this initiative, carried out jointly with the Red Cross, more than 17,000 kilograms of baby food and other essential products were collected," the message reads.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, representatives of Shakhtar Donetsk reacted to the scandalous video by making a special appeal to Robert Levandovsky. He justified himself.
