"As if it didn't exist": Russian Olympic champion complains that Russia was multiplied by zero at the 2024 Olympics
Russian synchronized swimmer Alla Shishkina was outraged by the fact that during the 2024 Olympic Games, athletes from the Russian Federation were hardly mentioned. The three-time Olympic winner complained about "human hypocrisy" and lack of respect for the past victories of athletes from the aggressor country.
Shishkina wrote about this on her Telegram channel. The former athlete, who ended her career after winning the 2020 Olympics and did not mention that Russians in her sport have always had lenient refereeing, also expressed hope for changes in the status of teams from Russia.
"It's good that the World Aquatics website at least wrote that the Chinese women are the first winners of two gold medals at the Olympic Games not from Russia. It's a shame that almost no one mentioned our athletes and team at these Games. As if there hasn't been an undisputed leader in synchronized swimming for 24 years. This is human hypocrisy. We are waiting for changes and following the developments," Shishkina said.
Earlier , the president of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner attributed the German athlete's gold medal to a team from Russia.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Eurosport TV channel listed Lviv as the territory of Russia in its information about Ukrainian rhythmic gymnast Maria Vysochenska.
