The men's soccer team NACKTionalmannschaft ("Naked Team" in German) played a nudist match against the Pottoriginale All Stars at the Schloss Strunkede stadium in Herne. All the players of the NACKTionalmannschaft took to the field without clothes. There were also two women on the team.
"The game was seen as a protest against UEFA, the German Football Association and the over-commercialization of football," said the initiator of the action and artist Gerrit Starczewski.
It's worth noting that the name contains a play on words: national means national; nackt means naked.
More than 1000 viewers gathered to watch the "football" (video 18+).
"It's more enjoyable than sex. The number of spectators gives me chills. It's great," said the coach of the naked team before the game.
