A champion boxer who lost only once in his career was shot dead in Germany
Besar Nimani, a 38-year-old professional boxer of Kosovo-Albanian origin, was killed in the German city of Bielefeld, where he had lived since 1997. The IBF international and IBF European welterweight champion was shot dead by unknown gunmen as he was leaving a hairdresser's salon. One of the bullets hit a car sharing car that was parked nearby.

Police and rescuers immediately arrived at the scene, but paramedics were unable to resuscitate the former athlete. He died on the spot from his injuries. Part of the city center was cordoned off, but the criminals managed to escape.
"I was sitting in a cafe called De Lorenzo Gelateria Italiana. It's right next door. Then I also heard shots. Then the police surrounded everything. In any case, it's bad that the criminals (there were at least two of them, they ran past the ice cream parlor) are still at large. And what's worse is that it's happening in my beautiful old town," Bild quotes an eyewitness as saying.

At the time of publication of this news, the police had not made any official statements, only confirming that the victim was a 38-year-old white man with a Kosovo passport. Law enforcement officials assured that there is no danger to local residents.

In 2013, Besar Nimani was already the victim of a shooting. The crime took place in a kebab shop at the intersection of Feilenstrasse and Banhofstrasse. Two bullets hit him in the thigh and knee.
