Russian skier Veronika Stepanova, whose intelligence has been compared to a washing machine, is outraged that she is not being cited in the media as the winner of the Spartakiad. The 23-year-old athlete called the notion that the Olympic Games are the most prestigious competitions in the world a "look back in time."

Stepanova voiced this ridiculous opinion in an interview with BUSINESS Online. The skier, who won gold in Beijing in the team competition after failing in her individual race, was not embarrassed by the fact that the Olympics had been held in the aggressor country since 1928.

"Yes, the title of Olympic champion gives an additional bonus. By the way, I always want to ask a question: why am I still presented as an Olympic champion? Last year, we had the Winter Spartakiad of the Strongest, where I became a three-time champion and won two more silver medals. Why am I not presented as a three-time champion of the Spartakiad? Why are we still looking back to the past?" Stepanova said.

Earlier, the skier lashed out at the Russians participating in the Paris Olympics, saying that one should only go to the tournament "if there is a very high probability of winning."
