Mykyta Zasiadko was killed near Kreminna

A young Kharkiv swimmer, Mykyta Zasiadko, was killed in the war with the Russian occupiers. The 18-year-old athlete volunteered to defend Ukraine this summer, joining the Azov regiment.

This was reported by Kharkiv Today, citing the Department for Family, Youth and Sports of the Kharkiv City Council. According to the portal, Zasiadko was killed on November 30 in the battles near Kreminna, Luhansk region, but his body was not recovered until December 3.

Zasiadko studied at the specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve of the famous champion Yana Klochkova and was her pupil. He graduated from the Kharkiv Professional College of Sports.

At the age of 15, Mykyta was awarded the title of master of sports and became the Ukrainian champion in butterfly swimming. He studied simultaneously at two faculties of the Academy of Physical Culture and Sports.

On December 7, the funeral of the fallen defender of the country took place. His funeral was held at the Alley of Heroes at cemetery No. 18.

Earlier it became known that 26-year-old Azov soldier Oleksandr Perepelytsia, who was actively involved in handball,  was killed near Kreminna.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, a boxer fighting in the Azov region died heroically in Luhansk region. He shielded his comrades in arms during a Grad attack.
