18-year-old Ukrainian boxer tragically died a week before his professional debut
18-year-old Ukrainian boxer Nikita Babich tragically died a week before he was to make his professional debut. The athlete was supposed to be one of the participants of the show of the promoter company Top Boxing Generation, which was scheduled for August 12 in Brovary.
This is reported by the popular portal Luckypunch.net on its page in the social network Facebook. According to his data, on Saturday, August 5, Babich was resting in the village of Puhovka in Brovary district of Kyiv region. Together with his friends, he went there to swim at the local lake. While swimming, the athlete was suddenly seized by a cramp, because of which he could not hold on to the water and drowned. The body of the boxer was found on Monday, August 7.
Babich, 18, was a pupil of trainer Arsen Babayan and was training at the World of Boxing club. On August 12, he was scheduled to fight another professional boxing debutant Mikhail Khainutdinov. It should be noted that the Top Boxing Generation show will be the first international boxing event in Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion of our country.
