Ukrainians have a worsening attitude towards China and Turkey amid the war: poll results

Against the backdrop of a full-scale war and international support for Ukraine, which has been going on for more than a year, the attitude of our citizens toward the leading geopolitical players: Turkey and China is noticeably changing. The ambiguous position of the leaders of these states on the situation in our country and their refusal to impose sanctions against Russia increase skepticism toward them among the population.
This is evidenced by the survey data obtained on June 1-2. If at the beginning of the invasion Ankara was considered to be rather friendly, the latest data show that Ukrainians find it rather neutral.
The situation with China is even more doubtful. In March of last year our citizens were sure that China was neutral and if it would not help Kyiv, it would not support Moscow - now 25% of respondents consider China "rather hostile".
However, the attitude towards Germany is steadily improving: the percentage of people who consider Germany a friendly country rose from 65% last year to 80%. The attitude towards the partner-countries remains invariably high: 94% consider Poland a friendly country, 86% consider the USA friendly, and 85% consider Great Britain friendly.
Earlier OBOZREVATEL reported that President Biden called Chinese leader Xi Jinping a dictator. Notably, the American leader made this statement the day after Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's trip to China and, in particular, his meeting with Xi.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said after talks with his odious Russian counterpart Lavrov that the war must end through negotiations as soon as possible. Ankara once again confirmed that it is ready to provide full support and mediation between the countries.
