They are already saving lives on the front lines: Ukrainian inventors have created unique wound and burn dressings. Photo

A group of Ukrainian inventors has created innovative wound and burn dressings that are already helping to save the lives of the wounded on the front lines. They have also developed disinfectant solutions and water disinfectants.
Ukrainian engineers, biologists, and biochemists have contributed to the development of these products. This was reported by Ukrinform, citing one of the developers, Oleksandr Dlihach.
"On Thursday, a medical presentation of these wound and burn dressings, as well as disinfectant solutions, will be held at the military hospital in Kamianske for local doctors and volunteers," he said.
Dlihach noted that because the developed dressings contain antibacterial components, they can be used to prevent wound infection. This coating provides long-term (up to two days) protection of the treated surface and is easily washed off with plain water.
The substances contained in the innovative dressings allow for thorough cleaning of the wound surface, moisturizing it, and inhibiting pathogenic bacterial flora. All of this creates conditions for speedy healing.
It should be noted that these products began to be developed in the 2000s by a team of authors led by Leonid Drapei and Oleksandr Dlihach. Now the group of inventors continues to create and research new 5th generation disinfectants.
The developers say that since 2014, wound and burn dressings, disinfectant solutions, and water disinfectants have been actively used by our defenders on the front lines. There is also a demand for them among military medics and volunteers.
