United States Ambassador Bridget Brink showed how Eastern Rite Christians in Kyiv blessed Easter baskets despite two years of full-scale Russian invasion. She emphasized that the spirit of the Ukrainian people cannot be defeated.
The American diplomat published the post on her page on the social network X on Sunday, May 5. The photo was taken at St. Vladimir's Cathedral in the capital.

"Easter morning in Kyiv. Ukrainians continue to celebrate the holidays with friends and families more than two years after Russia's full-scale invasion. The spirit and determination of Ukrainians cannot be defeated," the statement said.

On May 5, US President Joe Biden congratulated Eastern Rite Orthodox Christians on Easter and emphasized that on this day "we remember with special love the people who suffer from war and persecution."
"We will continue to pray and work for peace and justice for all people," the White House said in a statement.
On that day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that in the most difficult period of Ukraine's modern history, our people are learning the true meaning of the biblical commandments and clearly understanding who is who in the modern world. He emphasized that Ukrainians are now waging a just war, defending their right to exist, and God is definitely on the side of those who are right - on the side of the Defense Forces.
