"Moved to real steps": in Ukraine began to build a plant for the production of Bayraktar, - the minister
In Ukraine the construction of a factory for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles Bayraktar of the Turkish company Baykar has begun. There will be also some other things that are not to be discussed at the moment.
This statement was made by the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshyn. He said this on the air of the all-Ukrainian telethon.
"The plant has started to be built in fact, not just in the memorandum. This is exactly the large Bayraktar plant that was agreed upon several years ago, then there were stops and scandals. Today this plant is starting to be built, we have moved on to real steps," he said.
Kamyshyn added that we are talking about production on the territory of Ukraine. He specified that they will also produce other things, information about which cannot be disclosed now.
It is worth mentioning that during Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Turkey, Kyiv and Ankara signed a memorandum on joint development in the field of strategic industries. Among the main areas of cooperation is the development of capacities and capabilities for the production of autonomous vehicles, in particular unmanned aerial vehicles.
At the end of June, the Turkish company Baykar received permits for the production of drones Bayraktar TB2 and AKINCI SİHA in Ukraine. It is expected that their development will begin in 2025.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has agreed with the investors and interested parties the location of the Bayraktar UAV service center, where the maintenance, modernization of UAVs and training of personnel to operate them will be carried out. Also, a draft roadmap for the transfer of land for the use of the Center has been developed.
As Bayraktar earlier said, the total area of Baykar center in our country will be 30 thousand square meters. The number of Ukrainian specialists, engineers and technicians - more than 300 people.
