Anton Bilozubov, a former employee of the Kherson Regional Academic Music and Drama Theatre named after M. Kulish, was killed in the battles for freedom and independence of Ukraine. The hero survived the occupation and immediately joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland from the invaders.

The tragic news was reported on the theatre's Facebook page. The defender was killed in the Donetsk sector of the frontline (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"Defending Ukraine, our colleague Anton Bilozubov was killed in the Donetsk sector. We express our sincere condolences to his family and friends... Eternal glory to the Hero," the soldier's colleagues wrote.

The head of the theatre's literary and dramatic department, Alyona Movchan, told Suspilne that for a long time before the war began, Anton had worked as a lighting designer at the theatre.

When the war broke out, despite the occupation, he did not leave Kherson and stayed in the city all the time, and after the liberation joined the Armed Forces.

It is known that Hero was being searched for. Theatre actress Olga Krylova posted on Facebook about his search.

"Anton Bilozubov was born on 11 August 1988. He served in the 37th Marine Brigade in a reconnaissance platoon. He was last in touch on 13 June 2023. We believe he is alive," she wrote.

However, on 20 June, the theatre's chief director Serhiy Pavlyuk commented on this publication, making it clear that the Hero was no longer alive.

"Let him rule with the Righteous," Pavlyuk wrote.
