Floods in Europe may affect water quality in Ukraine: which regions are at risk
Due to the bad weather that has hit neighboring countries, water quality in Ukraine may deteriorate. Odesa and the region are at the highest risk.
The deterioration of the situation was reported by the Odesa Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention. It is noted that there is a threat of surface water pollution in the region.
In particular, it concerns the pollution of the Dniester and Danube rivers, as well as the largest natural lake in Ukraine, Yalpuh. These two rivers and the lake are sources of drinking water supply for part of the population of Odesa Region.
According to the Center, to prevent the occurrence of infectious diseases and emergencies, experts have intensified monitoring of the quality of drinking water supply and control over the health of the region's population.
"If the epidemic situation worsens, we will inform you further. The situation is under constant control," the experts say.
