DIU warns Russia aims to target Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in its next information campaign

Ukrainians have been warned that the aggressor country Russia is preparing another provocation. This time, the disinformation may target the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War (KSHPPV).

As part of the campaign, Russians will distribute falsified documents. This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

According to the DIU, the occupiers plan to publish "documents" with the emblems of the Coordination Headquarters or a head referring to KSHPPV. Ukrainian intelligence warned that these materials do not meet the standards of document flow, as well also contain the names of officials who are not related to the Coordination Headquarters and fictitious names of regional units.

The agency emphasized that in this way, the Russians will try to discredit the work of government agencies and sow distrust. Thus, Ukrainians were urged to be careful, not to spread disinformation on their social media accounts and not to trust shady individuals and organizations that may offer assistance.

"The enemy does not stop its attempts to manipulate the families of prisoners, missing persons, and captured civilians. It does not disdain to use lies and substitution. Please immediately report any attempts to extort money for 'services' related to captive Ukrainians to law enforcement agencies. We emphasize that absolutely all assistance of the Coordination Center's specialists is free of charge," the DIU said in a statement.

As a reminder, on February 5, Ukraine and Russia held the 61st exchange of prisoners of war. 150 defenders returned home, including the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the Territorial Defense Forces, as well as border guards and a representative of the National Police.
