A 71-year-old tourist from Lviv was found in the Carpathians who had gotten lost from the group. The search for him lasted almost all night.
The man's condition is satisfactory, and he is being escorted to the village of Bohdan. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.
"At 15:00, the lost tourist was found. His health condition is satisfactory, he is being escorted to the village of Bohdan," the statement said.
It is noted that the incident occurred on February 8. A group of 17 tourists was hiking between Mount Petros and Holovcheska Valley when one of the participants got lost. His disappearance was noticed only a few hours later. The man did not get in touch, and at about 21:00 the Rescue Service received a report of his disappearance.
The search operation lasted all night - rescuers checked the area up to the Peremychka tract and the Rogneska valley, but found no traces of the missing man.
In the morning, additional forces of the State Emergency Service were engaged in the search. One of the search teams found tracks in the area of the Holovcheska meadow leading in the direction of the Bohdanska Valley. So the rescuers followed these tracks, and others came to meet them.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, in Rakhiv district of Transcarpathia, border guards and rescuers found "tourists" in the highlands - residents of Kyiv and Donetsk regions. They wanted to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Romanian border, but got lost in the Carpathians.
