Kyiv has the highest salaries on offer among all major cities in Ukraine, with an average of UAH 20,000. At the same time, the range is huge from 110,000 UAH for a C++ developer (specialists who know the intricacies of the C++ programming language) to 6,700 for club leaders. In general, the worst situation with labor remuneration is in Sumy.

According to a major HR portal, Lviv is second only to Kyiv in terms of salaries, with UAH 18,500. Media buyers are offered the most here, with an average of UAH 60,000. Teachers' assistants are paid the least, at UAH 9,500.

Next are two cities with an average salary of 18,000 UAH. These are:

  • Dnipro

The highest salaries are offered to military personnel, with an average of UAH 70,100. The lowest salary is offered to cleaners, UAH 9000. And also to nurses, 9300 UAH.

  • Uzhhorod

International drivers are offered the highest salaries here,  with an average of 55,000 UAH. The lowest salary is offered to cleaners, UAH 11,000.

The average salary offered in Odesa is slightly lower by only UAH 100. Here, it reaches UAH 17,900:

  • the highest is for military personnel, UAH 72,500;
  • the lowest is for cleaners, with an average of UAH 9,300, as well as for dishwashers and Ukrainian language teachers, UAH 9,500.

The lowest salaries were recorded in Sumy, with an average of UAH 13,500. People here are willing to pay:

  • English teachers, realtors, and car mechanics are paid the most, with an average of UAH 22,500;
  • the least to cashiers, merchandisers, security guards, nannies, lawyers, UAH 10,000.

The average salary in Kryvyi Rih is only UAH 1,000 more, making UAH 14,500. According to HR specialists:

  • military personnel are paid the most, with an average of UAH 72,500;
  • the lowest is for cleaners, 7,300 UAH.

Employers are going to raise salaries for Ukrainians

At the same time, Ukrainian businesses expect an increase in labor costs for their employees. That is, Ukrainians are expected to see a salary increase. First of all, for employees of manufacturing companies.

According to a survey conducted by the National Bank of Ukraine, 47.2% of respondents expect an increase in future labor costs per employee, which is 44.6% higher than in the second quarter of 2023 (April-June). This means that there are more companies preparing to raise salaries for their employees.

"Manufacturing companies have the highest expectations in terms of economic activity. Medium-sized enterprises have the highest expectations in terms of size. In terms of the type of activity, the highest expectations are among companies engaged in export and import operations. If we are talking about a region, it is mainly for enterprises in the Chernihiv region," the study says.

Employers are going to raise salaries for Ukrainians

As reported by OBOZ.UA, meanwhile, Ukrainian employers are most often looking for skilled workers with tools through the State Employment Service: 21% of the total number of vacancies are for seamstresses, electricians, mechanics, electric and gas welders, bakers, and painters. Their salaries are offered at an average of UAH 11-12 thousand.
