On Wednesday, December 20, work began in Kyiv to return the crosses of St. Sophia Cathedral to their historical places. Before that, they were removed for restoration.

This was reported on his Facebook page by Vadym Kyrylenko, deputy director of the National Conservation Area "St. Sophia of Kyiv". The costs were covered by the capital of Portugal.

"Today, after the restoration and consecration, work has begun to return the crosses of St. Sophia Cathedral to their historical places," the post reads.

As noted by the publication Vechirniy Kyiv, the installation of the crosses will last for three days. After Christmas, they plan to dismantle the central cross. Specialists will hold restoration councils and restore it in the same way, at the expense of patrons.

The cost of restoring this cross was covered by the capital of Portugal. The mayor of Lisbon is planning to come and see the renovated crosses of the shrine.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra will ring the main bell every day to remind of the captured Ukrainian military. The tradition of the "Bell of Memory and Hope" was launched on Tuesday, December 5.
