Apple is constantly working to improve its operating system, and the next version of iOS 19 promises significant updates in many aspects. Although the release of this version has not yet taken place, insider information about the new design and features of the Camera app has already been leaked.
This year, the Camera app will be radically updated as part of iOS 19. In a YouTube video, Jon Prosser showed that the new Camera in iOS 19 will have a design that "mirrors the style of visionOS."
Prosser said that he had seen the updated Camera app in action with iOS 19. However, to protect his source, he added that he was unable to share details in the video. Instead, he recreated the update from scratch to give us an idea of what to expect from the redesign.
The video shows how Apple has consolidated the controls at the bottom of the interface into two switches for Photos and Videos. In each menu, you can switch between different modes, and adjust parameters such as exposure, etc.
At the top of the interface, there will be quick access to controls for Live Photos and the flash, as well as resolution and frame rate settings. There will also be a special button to go to the photo library.
Currently, the Camera app is full of controls and settings that can interfere with the actual process of taking a photo or video. The new design of iOS 19 shows that Apple wants to provide easy access to the most popular settings. Buttons and settings will be arranged in a way that minimizes distractions while shooting.
The new camera design is likely to resemble the interface of the operating system for Apple Vision Pro augmented reality glasses. It is expected to be more minimalistic, intuitive, and focused on the main functions.
