Will notify you when a missile or drone approaches the region: an important update to the Air Alert app has been released

The Ukrainian Air Alert app will now send warnings of increased danger in certain cities and communities. In the updated version 6.0, notifications about an approaching missile or drone will be sent additionally during the general alarm.

Such announcements will allow people to be notified of the threat to their location. This is reported by the portal of the international technology company and Europe's largest manufacturer of security systems Ajax Systems.

It is noted that in addition to the new alert, the Air Alert app has been updated with:

– adjusting the volume of the "Increased danger!" notification;

– notification if the "Increased danger!" messages stop coming.

"Information about all types of danger is transmitted by responsible civil defense officers in the military regional administrations of Ukraine. Alarms are coordinated by the SES on duty," the developers explained.

To receive additional threat notifications, you need to install the Air Alert app version 6.0. If it does not update automatically, you need to do it manually or reinstall it. The update is already available for iOS and Android users.

According to a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, the updated app will now notify when missiles and drones enter Ukrainian airspace and the danger in the region where the user is located.

"However, you should not look at the app as a panacea, nor should you pay attention to the general air raid alert, our warnings. After all, if ballistic missiles are flying, information may not always appear before the missile takes off," Ihnat said.

The developers have also released a separate application Alert Map Widget that can be added to the phone screen for constant and convenient monitoring of the security situation. The widget can be downloaded via the links for iOS and Android users.

The Airborne Alarm app was developed by Ajax Systems and Stfalcon with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. It has been downloaded more than 26 million times and is actively used by more than 6 million users. It has become a convenient and reliable tool for informing about dangers in Ukraine. Currently, you can receive warnings about missile strikes, artillery shelling, street fighting, radiation and chemical threats, natural disasters, and important alerts from the Military Administration and Civil Defense of Ukraine.

As OBOZ.UA reported, at the end of 2023, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that they had no plans to change the airborne alarm system during the takeoffs of Russian MiG-31s. These aircraft can be carriers of Kinzhal missiles, and our military does not always have data on whether a particular board is armed.
