Will grow lush fast: how to fertilize capricious cyclamen
Cyclamen instantly reacts to drafts, changes in lighting, or mistakes in the watering regime. There are many species of the plant - Naples, European, Persian Violet - but the most widespread is the latter and its hybrids. The color scheme varies from white to bright red, lilac and purple shades. There are even hybrids with terry petals.
European cyclamen has small tubers and fragrant flowers that do not differ in a variety of shades. OBOZ.UA tells you how to feed the plant for active growth and flowering.
When cyclamen blooms
Flowering time usually occurs in October and lasts until the end of March. In the cold season, when most plants usually do not have an active growing season, cyclamen becomes a real home decoration.
How to fertilize cyclamen
However, it often happens that the plant's growth slows down and flowering stops altogether.
Florists emphasize that for abundant flowering, you need to feed the plant in time. A charcoal fertilizer will come in handy.
The authors of the Plants YouTube channel said that the fertilizer is extremely effective. Charcoal contains a number of useful trace elements, including nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, and calcium. The natural component is also rich in iron, copper, zinc and manganese.
Experts say that coal is a superfood for plants. However, there is one caveat - it must be ground into powder before use.
How to prepare the fertilizer
You will need:
- water
- 1 tbsp of charcoal
- Dissolve 1 tablespoon of charcoal in a liter of infused water.
- Mix the solution thoroughly.
- Water the plants no more than once a month.
Organic fertilizers that contain charcoal can be used for other indoor plants. Remember that this fertilizer also helps regulate soil acidity.
