The plot revolved around the story of Barbara Gordon, who is looking for the person responsible for her mother's death. She died in a fire organized by one of the villains of the cinematic universe, who worked for the mafia and got rid of unnecessary real estate in Gotham.

The original plan was to release The Flash, which would explain the concept of alternate universes to the audience, and to continue the theme with Batgirl. American singer and actress Leslie Grace was chosen for the role, having been selected from among 500 applicants.
