Which Mercedes-Benz SUVs will be released in 2025: rating of large luxury models
Mercedes-Benz has an excellent reputation. The brand's roots go back to the Benz Patent Motorwagen in 1895, and Mercedes-Benz was officially founded in June 1926 when Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie (the oldest automotive company in the world) merged to create Daimler-Benz. Among the variety of SUVs, it can be quite difficult to choose the right one for you. Some of them make wasteful use of space just for the sake of luxury.
The German premium car manufacturer is known for its sporting pedigree in early Grand Prix racing, its off-road prowess, and its focus on the ultimate in luxury and technological innovation. Experts told us which SUVs will be released next year and revealed the rating of large luxury models.
Mercedes-Maybach GLS
The 2025 Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV is colossal in every sense of the word. It produces an incredible 550 horsepower. Luxury SUVs like this one usually offer more space and comfort, so rear seat passengers won't have to complain about lack of legroom.
Mercedes-Benz GLS
The GLS SUV can be seen simply as the gas version of the EQS. It offers equal parts luxury, extravagance, and the most comfortable and exclusive way to drive a Mercedes-Benz. Three rows of seats are enough for seven adults. It's worth noting that instead of a huge trunk, the designers preferred passenger comfort, which makes sense in a flagship model.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV Maybach
This is simply a flagship among flagships. Anything that bears the Maybach badge is very serious, reliable, and high quality indeed, and this EQS SUV is no exception to the rule. Of course, this is also reflected in the price. The Maybach boasts fierce power and the finest materials in the Mercedes-Benz arsenal.
Is there anything the Maybach EQS SUV can't do? Yes, it can't seat seven people, unlike the EQS SUV on which it is based. The car has five seats as standard, just like the "basic" EQS. And although the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV Maybach has an additional seating arrangement, the choice of this option does not increase the number of seats to seven, but reduces it to four. In this form, the Maybach EQS boasts a second row consisting of first-class airliner seats.
Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe
Once again, the stylishly sloping roofline of the Mercedes Coupe models deprives the headroom found in more practical SUV models. In the case of the GLC Coupe, the design "steals" more than just headroom, as the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe removes the desirable option of adding a third row. Despite the heavily modified rear end, the Coupe model is slightly longer than the SUV. However, while the proportions won't make parking difficult, rear visibility is likely to be reduced in the coupe.
Mercedes-Benz EQS
The EQS is one of the flagship models of Mercedes' ambitious premium SUV lineup. It is a full-size SUV that stands above other electrified models in the current lineup. While the EQS SUV comes with five seats as standard, it is possible to upgrade it to seven seats by adding a two-seat third row.
Mercedes-Benz GLE
Not all trim levels allow you to upgrade to the seven-seat option. The traditional five-seater GLE weighs an impressive 2.17 tons – and experts say you'll feel it. It is likely that the SUV will feel a bit cumbersome on narrow city streets. However, the advantage at this level is a very luxurious interior, many features, and powerful engines, including a 510-horsepower V8 in the GLE 580.
