Which cars keep their value best: good options
Buying a car can be a really profitable investment if you choose a model that doesn't lose value over the years. A new study has named the top ten new cars that can be resold on the secondary market with the least loss in value.
Express writes about the results of this study. The comparison was made by experts from Auto Express. They compared the prices of new cars and the cost of the same models after three years of operation. As a result, a dozen cars were formed that avoid price losses due to high demand from used car buyers.
The top positions in the rating were taken by models that can hardly be called practical family cars. Thus, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS took the top spot. In three years, this car loses only a little more than 30% of its original value.
Three Porsche models made the top ten according to the study, and the manual transmission versions of the 911 GT3 and Macan 2.0T took fourth and tenth place, respectively.
Another model that has managed to avoid strong depreciation in the used car market is the Land Rover Defender 110 P300e. According to the study, it retains 68.79% of its original value after three years.
However, not all models that retain their price well are luxury cars. This is how the Dacia Duster 1.0 TCe Bi-Fuel Essential made the list. It was ranked eighth with the average cost of a three-year-old used car, which is 63.35% of the original price. This affordable SUV remains consistently popular because it can run on both gasoline and gas, which helps save on fuel bills. The top twenty also includes several other affordable models, including the Suzuki Ignis 1.2, Vauxhall Grandland Electric, and Mini Cooper C Classic.
Here are the top ten car models that lose the least in price:
