When will the film adaptation of the popular cartoon "Lilo and Stitch" be released: a teaser has been published
Next summer, Disney Studios will bring back the audience's favorite pair of characters – the charming blue alien Stitch and his girlfriend, a lonely Earth girl Lilo. A game adaptation of the popular cartoon will be released on May 23, 2025.
Disney showed how it will look like in the first teaser of the movie. It was published on the studio's official YouTube channel.
We don't see any plot details or even Lilo's image in the video. The 30-second clip features only picturesque landscapes of the Hawaiian coast and a few of Stitch's pranks. While on the beach, he gets wild and destroys a beautifully built sand castle.
According to the official logline, the upcoming film Lilo and Stitch will tell the story of "the bond that develops between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who was designed to be a destructive force."
The film will be directed by Dean Fleischer Kemp, who directed the charming animated feature comedy Marcel, the Clam in the Shoes for A24. One of the directors of the original film, Chris Sanders, will return as a dubbing actor this time around, lending his voice to Stitch. Lilo will be played by young Hawaiian actress Maya Kiloha. Other cast members include Zach Galifianakis, Sydney Agudong, Billy Magnussen, and Courtney B. Vance.
The live-action version of Lilo and Stitch will be released 23 years after the first film, which told the story of 6-year-old Lilo and her teenage sister Nani. The girls live in Hawaii and take care of a genetically modified "dog" known as Experiment 626 or Stitch. The original film grossed $273 million at the box office and spawned several sequels and spinoffs.
