When the second season of the high-profile Netflix series Squid Game will be released: the premiere date is announced
The high-profile South Korean series Squid Game, which became a Netflix sensation in 2021, will return to screens in December 2024. This was announced by one of the main actors of the project, Lee Jung-jae.
The series began filming a long time ago, but the first footage appeared only in February this year. According to Business Insider, we shouldn't expect our favorite story to return by the end of the year.
Earlier, Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed that the second season is planned to be filmed in the summer of 2022. At the time, he hinted that the main character Song Ki-Hoon and the game host, who hid his face under a mask until the end of the premiere season, would appear again.
It took the team 12 years to shoot the first season, but the Koreans managed to complete the new episodes in just two years. There was talk that viewers would be immersed in the intense atmosphere of the survival game again.
Fans probably won't see Oh Yeong-su's grandfather, who won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series. The fact is that the 79-year-old actor was sentenced to 8 months in prison and two years of probation for an incident that happened in 2017. He was accused of harassment: the actor touched and kissed a woman without permission.
In 2023, Netflix showed teasers for the second season of the acclaimed series Squid Game and a reality show based on the movie, and earlier this year the company confirmed that we won't have to wait long.
