What will be the iPhone 17: the design of the new product was shown on video

Yulia PoteriankoNews

Gossip about what the next iPhone will look like starts almost immediately after Apple's annual September presentation. However, it seems that this time there was a really serious leak and the world was able to see renders of the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro back in February.

A video with images of the upcoming novelty was presented on the YouTube channel of fpt. analyst Jon Prosser. The renders show the design nuances of the flagship smartphone. Apparently, the changes will not be as dramatic as some tech enthusiasts predicted.

What will really change is the design of the camera unit on the back. According to Prosser, the lenses will be located on the left, and the flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor will be on the right. However, the lenses themselves will remain grouped in a triangle, despite rumors that Apple will mount them in a horizontal line.

According to Prosser, linear placement of cameras next to the Face ID system is impossible. This is due to the size of the optical modules. Although Apple is trying to introduce changes to the design of the new iPhones, the triangular lens arrangement provides the smoothest switching between ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses during shooting, so it is not advisable to abandon it.

What the iPhone 17 Pro doesn't seem to have is a two-color back panel. The smartphone will continue to come in a one-color body. However, the camera unit will still have a much darker color.

Nevertheless, it should be borne in mind that the renders presented in the video are based on leaks. Prosser himself has not seen the finished iPhone 17 Pro. Moreover, the reputable journalist Mark Gurman, who works extensively with Apple sources, called Prosser's renders a fake. It will be possible to find out which of them will be right only in the fall, when the American tech giant will show a new generation of its smartphones.
