What trees should not be planted in the fall: there is practically no chance of survival
Mid-autumn is not the time to relax. Experienced gardeners know that autumn planting can reward you with an early harvest and lush flowering next season. However, not all trees and shrubs are suitable for late planting.
Some plants simply do not have time to take root, so they have no chance of a successful winter. OBOZ.UA tells you which trees should not be planted in the fall.
Rules of autumn planting
When choosing a time for planting trees and shrubs, you should consider several nuances. First of all, pay attention to the soil temperature. The optimum temperature for rooting is between 10 and 15°C. At lower temperatures, trees and shrubs are unlikely to have time to adapt to the new location.
Regional peculiarities should also be taken into account. In the southern regions, you can carry out gardening work at the end of October, as frosts come later. In northern regions, however, it is better to complete planting by mid-September so that the plants have time to get stronger.
Be sure to check before planting that the seedlings are healthy and have a strong root system. Weakened seedlings can be soaked in a honey solution (1 tablespoon of honey per 10 liters of water) or the solution can be made using growth stimulants.

Stone fruit plants, in particular, plums, cherries, and cherries, do not take root well when planted in the fall, because they need more time to take root. The autumn cold snap can come suddenly, and the shoots will not have time to take root before the frost.
Heat-loving trees and shrubs, such as peach, apricot, and almonds, should not be planted in the fall. Late planting is likely to be fatal for them.

Winter-hardy varieties of apple, pear, mountain ash, and nuts will take root well in autumn plantings. Among berry bushes, you should choose all types of currants and red currants, gooseberries, and honeysuckle. These plants start the growing season early, so they adapt more easily to autumn planting than to spring planting.
Of course, you need to complete the autumn planting before the onset of stable frosts. It is important to allow the soil to settle and ensure better rooting. Young seedlings need regular watering before the onset of cold weather.
