What to see in Vinnytsia in winter: a perfect Ukrainian city for a cozy weekend

Mykola Leontovych Central City Park
Located in the city center between Soborna and Magistratska streets. The place was founded in 1936.
Many memorable sculptures can be found on its territory. Near the main entrance, tourists will see monuments to Afghan soldiers and Sich Riflemen.
There is also an "Alley of Glorious Countrymen" where prominent natives of Vinnytsia region are honored.
There is also a wide range of entertainment for the whole family: Raiduha (Rainbow) concert hall, a stadium for sports events, a skating rink, a planetarium for space enthusiasts, and other interesting attractions.
Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi's estate
The prominent Ukrainian writer was born and spent his childhood years in Vinnytsia, namely on the farm of his grandfather Maksym Abaza. Here, among the picturesque landscapes of Podillia, his worldview was formed and his literary talent was born.
The museum was founded in 1927 to preserve the memory of the writer and popularize his work. The poet lived in the house for about 30 years.
The museum has more than 9 thousand exhibits. Tourists can see the personal belongings of the cultural figure, furniture, photographs, manuscripts, letters, as well as his works in different languages.
Water Tower
Located in the very center of Vinnytsia on European Square.
The tower was built in 1912 by the famous Vinnytsia architect Hryhoriy Artynov. It had a dual function: it provided water to the locals and served as a fire tower.
Its strategic location made it possible to observe the neighborhood from a height and respond quickly to the fire.
The brick building was made in an octagonal shape. Its height reaches 28 meters, making it visible from different parts of the city.
Roshen embankment
Located on the left bank of the Southern Buh River. It is a favorite vacation spot for both Vinnytsia residents and tourists.
The attraction was created thanks to the investments of a People's Deputy of Ukraine. The river banks were reconstructed, pedestrian areas and bicycle paths were created, lighting was installed, and playgrounds were set up.
The main decoration of the embankment is a unique floating light and music fountain, which is considered one of the largest in Europe. It is also among the top ten best fountains in the world. Unfortunately, it is only open from March to November.
Vinnytsia tram
Local public transportation is famous for the Istorychna Zupynka (History Stop) project. This is a kind of tour on wheels that allows tourists to learn more about Vinnytsia, its culture, and heritage.
Passengers of the tram route #4 (Railway Station-Barske Highway) get a unique opportunity to listen to interesting information about the city, its historical monuments, and little-known facts.
Mykola Sadovskyi State Academic Music and Drama Theatre
The cultural center was built in 1910 by Hryhoriy Artynov too. People's Artist of Ukraine Vitaliy Selezniov was in charge of the theater from 1986 to 2016.
Travelers can attend a variety of performances, including The Forest Song by Lesia Ukrainka or Adventures in Oz by Lyman Frank Baum.
