Shōgun is based on the hugely popular novel by James Clavell. The plot tells the fictional story of an English sailor, John, who is shipwrecked and ends up on the shores of Japan, a country dominated by samurai and sword fighting.

He becomes part of the court of the daimyo, a Japanese feudal lord named Yoshii Toronaga, who takes the protagonist under his care only for his own benefit. At that time, however, a woman named Mariko appears and becomes close to John, helping him to understand local traditions and culture. Intrigue, power struggle, clash of different cultures and values, adaptation and survival in a foreign environment - all this is the basis of the series.

Critics even call FX's new show the successor to the epic fantasy series Game of Thrones but in the historical drama genre.

The Bear

The story revolves around a young chef, Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, who returns to his native Chicago to take over the family restaurant after the death of his brother.

He has gained recognition in fine dining in New York City, so he tries to adapt his high standards to the realities of a small establishment that has financial problems and many internal conflicts. The series focuses on Carmy's struggle with personal demons, his attempts to reorganize the business and build relationships with the team working in the restaurant.

And all this is in the comedy genre. By the way, CNN claims that The Bear broke the record for the number of nominations, held by 30 Rock in 2009.

Only Murders in the Building

Only Murders in the Building revolves around three friends who decide to record a podcast about the murders that took place in their building. The main characters - Charles, Oliver and Mabel - conduct their own investigation to find the culprit. In the process, they not only try to find out the truth about the crime, but also face their own secrets and problems.
