The German automaker BMW finally presented the third generation of the BMW M5 Touring station wagon. In it, the company continued its course to expand the line of hybrids, and at the same time has already managed to declare that this is the most powerful model in the lineup.
According to the press release, under the hood of the new M5 Touring can be found a hybrid setup based on a 4.4-liter V8 engine with an output of 585 hp, which is complemented by a 197-hp electric motor. The total output of the updated model is 727 liters and 1,000 Nm of torque.

Fans of the brand are concerned about the large mass of the car - it is 2508 kg. Nevertheless, the stated specifications claim that the updated BMW M5 Touring accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The top speed of the car is set at 250 km/h or up to 305 km/h if the optional package is ordered.
The exterior of the car has also undergone significant changes. It has received a more aggressive design, hinting at its almost sporty character. From the front, the M5 Touring has an updated bumper and a slightly modified corporate grille, forming the brand's characteristic "nostrils". The model has had its wheel arches widened to accommodate 20-inch and 21-inch wheels. The model is equipped with a rear spoiler and a 2x2 exhaust system. For the best driving experience, the new M5 Touring is equipped with a panoramic Sky Lounge roof.

BMW plans to unveil the new car at the Monterey Car Week auto show in California as early as this month. The new cars will start to go on sale closer to the end of the year. The initial price of the model will be from 121 thousand dollars. The novelty will be assembled at the BMW plant in Dingolfing.
