What makeup people with "sad" droopy eyes should opt for: tips from experts

And when it comes to droopy eyes, where the outer corners are lower than the inner ones, there is a risk of creating an effect of a sad, tired look, which is unlikely to add to the attractiveness. Experts told us how to make the perfect makeup for people with droopy eyes.

Any eye shape is beautiful, especially if you know how to emphasize their natural features. In general, there are no strict rules for applying mascara, eyeliner, or eyeshadow, but it is important to follow certain tips.

If you look at the classic images of the 20s and 30s of the last century, you will notice spectacular life hacks that are still relevant today. Keri Blair, a makeup artist and specialist at MAC Cosmetics, recalls the actresses of the 1920s, Clara Bow, Estelle Taylor, and Irene Delroy.

"Their makeup emphasized their slightly lowered eyes and gave them a dreamy, innocent look," Blair said.

Step-by-step instructions

Use a lengthening mascara and focus more on the upper lashes, carefully coloring the center section.

"This will draw the eye to the long lashes in the center and create a lift. Curling the lashes and lengthening the eyes downward is important because it can open up the eyes," said Jasmine Ferreira, makeup artist and head of makeup at Lancôme.

Instead of applying the eyeliner up to the tail of the eyebrows, it is better to repeat the natural shape of your eyes.

"I'm a fan of embracing your natural shape and emphasizing it," Ferreira said.

Next, apply dark brown eyeshadow along the lower lash line and blend it towards the tail of the eyebrow. This technique creates the illusion of a cat eye.

Another makeup tip for droopy eyes is to apply eyeliner from the outer corner of the eye straight outward and then upward to create a lift, and again to form a small triangle. You need to fill in the triangle, focusing the color on the outer lash line.

To add more intensity to the look, create a shadow around the outer quarter of the upper lash line and follow the natural shape of the eyes. Balance the look by using a soft, flesh tone from the eyelid to the crease of the eye.

Use medium-intensity shadows in the crease, applying them from the inner corner of the eye and then blending to the outer corner.
