What iPhone 17 will look like: netizens discuss the first details
The iPhone 16 is coming out very soon, which means that rumors about the iPhone 17 are already starting to spread online. Of course, Apple keeps all the details secret, but industry representatives make fairly accurate predictions to please the company's fans.
Apple told Insider what we can expect from the new smartphone, which is likely to be released in 2025. Read on to get a general idea of the iPhone 17.
The iPhone 17 series is about a year and eight months away from launch. With this in mind, there is no official information from Apple on what this smartphone will look like. However, there is a widespread belief that, since the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 are not likely to have any significant differences, the iPhone 17 should offer consumers something new.
The iPhone 17 series should stand out because the Always-On screen upgrade and 120Hz ProMotion, which were previously available only for the Pro, will delight users of the base smartphone models as well.
LTPO is a new and promising technology for OLED displays. Thanks to it, screens can dynamically control the refresh rate, which allows them to consume less power.
That is, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus will receive OLED displays using low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LPTO) panels, which will allow the screen to be refreshed up to 120 Hz when necessary.
However, there may be problems with upgrading all four models of the iPhone 17 series as much depends on the display manufacturer BOE. Although the firm has supplied LTPO screens to manufacturers such as Huawei, it has sent Apple only a sample.
Overall, there are doubts about BOE's ability to meet Apple's requirements. However, the prevailing opinion is that since it is very important for Apple to distinguish the iPhone 17 series, LTPO TFT will be applied to all four types of smartphones, as originally planned.
