What holidays are celebrated on August 14

World Calligraphy Day - In times when we no longer write but print texts, handwriting is becoming an art form. That's why in 2017, a company that produces writing instruments decided to honor this art with a special holiday. They chose the second Wednesday of August as the date. Even if you don't know calligraphy, write something by hand today. A note with nice words to yourself or your loved ones or a postcard. Feel the joy of writing on paper. Yes, it's not as fast as typing on a keyboard, but handwriting definitely has a bit of your warmth in it.

World Lizard Day - our world would definitely not be as interesting and diverse without these amazing creatures. About 7000 species of lizards can be found around the world. From the very tiny to the giant ones. Yes, there are dangerous ones among them. But many species get along well with people as pets. Today, think about what you can do to protect these incredible animals.

Tattoo Removal Day is a kind of anti-holiday. It is celebrated on the 38th day after Tattoo Day. That's how long it takes after a visit to a tattoo parlor for a person to seek the removal of an unwanted image on their body. This holiday reminds us that there are no mistakes that cannot be corrected. Yes, sometimes it can be unpleasant and even painful, but you will definitely get rid of at least some of your regrets.

The world also celebrates this day:

  • Independence Day of Pakistan;
  • Falkland Islands Day;
  • Birthday of bullfighting in Portugal;
  • Flag Day in Paraguay;
  • Summer Day of Happy Lovers in Japan.
